The Lee’s Summit community desires high quality education for its students. Unfortunately, our school district’s budget alone cannot adequately support the financial demands necessary for educational excellence. However, thanks to generous community donors partnering with the Lee’s Summit Educational Foundation, we are able to inspire and support exceptional learning opportunities for Lee’s Summit students!
Philanthropy is a personal expression of gratitude and compassion. There are many ways to give…many ways to make a difference in the life of a student. We invite you to review these giving opportunities to find what works best for you. If you would like more information on these options, please contact Foundation Director, Sheryl Franke, at 816-986-1015 or by email at email@example.com.
Cash gifts include checks, cash, credit card contributions and money orders. The Lee’s Summit Educational Foundation is a 501(C)3 charitable organization and tax-receipts are issued for all gifts.
Lee’s Summit R-7 School District employees may choose to make a gift via payroll deduction to support LSEF programs. The Foundation’s R-7 annual fund drive is held the second and third week of school.
Individuals may make a gift to the Foundation in honor of someone special in their lives…a teacher, principal, volunteer, family member. Tribute gifts may also be made in honor of special occasions such as graduations, birthdays and anniversaries.
Donations may be made to the Foundation in memory of a loved one who has passed away. These gifts can be made to the Foundation’s greatest area of need for students or can be designated for a special purpose. Please contact the Foundation office, 816-986-1015 to discuss memorial gift options.
Many companies have Matching Gift Programs where the company will match a portion of an employee’s donation (either volunteer time or financial contributions) to a not-for-profit organization. Donors should check with their employer to see if a Matching Gift Program is available and to secure the necessary paperwork and documentation. The donor completes part of the paperwork and the Foundation completes the other portion and submits the form back to the employer.
The Foundation currently manages over 100 scholarship funds or other designated funds to which a donor may contribute. A donor may also establish a new endowed fund. To learn more about guidelines on establishing a new fund, contact the Foundation Office at 816-986-1015.
Planned giving is a win-win approach to philanthropic donations that support a donor’s favorite nonprofit organizations and benefits the donor now or in the future. Planned giving is a satisfying way to create a legacy of support for continued educational excellence.
